ProcurePro is owned and operated by Managing Director, Steve Elliott. With over 16 years of procurement experience Steve brings a wealth of knowledge of indirect procurement category management, along with commercial acumen, negotiation and strong interpersonal & senior management skills.
Steve holds a Master of Science in Procurement from the University of Glamorgan, Diploma in Management Studies, Diploma in Purchasing and Supply and a Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Steve is a member of the Institute of Management, Institute of Leadership and Management, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and the Institute of Interim Management.
Steve is a highly competent & professional procurement interim manager, with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and the ability to successfully manage change within an international organisation. Specialising in minimising expenditure and streamlining processes, procedures & functions to facilitate improved efficiency & greater value add. Able to assert authority whilst utilising strong negotiating and influencing skills to overcome resistance from internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Steve is a motivational and inspirational manager capable of empowering individuals to enable them to fulfill their potential and add value to any function or business. Highly experienced in working in multi-national organisations, Steve has worked in manufacturing, service, consumer industry & public sector within the Defence, Software, Environmental Services & Petrochemical industries, previously working in senior purchasing positions with software giant Symantec, Novell, Thales Defence, Royal Mail and, De La Rue
Steve started his purchasing career in manufacturing purchasing and quickly progressed into the world of indirect procurement where he has built extensive experience both at ground level and in senior management roles. Steve has also presented at conferences, exhibitions, colleges and institute functions. With a core competency in "greenfield" start up, transformation or outsourcing of procurement functions along with an in depth knowledge of indirect commodities, especially Marketing & PR, Travel & Entertainment, HR & Professional Services, Fleet, Facilities, Information Technology, Expense Analysis & P-Card programs. Steve has a proven track record and a deep understanding of the nuances of procuring indirect goods & services and experience of the "high noise" factor and emotive issues that some indirects can have.
Procurement Interim Management was the next natural step for Steve. With a love of constant variety of challenges afforded by working as an independent for a range of different clients in many different industries. Steve has the ability to fit in rapidly amidst your business culture; identify the key stakeholders and begin to build the right quality of relationships with them, whilst rapidly diagnosing the "current state"; comparing it to the desired goal, presenting the gap analysis to you the client and then getting on and delivering the desired outcome.
Steve has a passion & enthusiasm for procurement, with a total belief in the value add which he brings to any interim role supported by a breadth of experience, extensive and continual training and development, along with an innovative entrepreneurial mind set and the drive & dedication to deliver the best possible service each time to every client. Steve firmly believes that procurement adds value beyond just savings, but also in commercial risk, contract management, due diligence and compliance, commercial acumen, category management and supplier relationship management and that procurement are a strategic function within any organisation.
In his spare time, Steve will be found enjoying his other passion of carp angling, along with mountain biking, piano and exercising
